Clubbing Berlin – Info about Club Guide Berlin – Nightlife
Clubguideberlin is not a party guide for nightlife events. So it was valid since 2007, now our guide for Berlin nightlife offers a selection of the current parties in Berlin today. It is an orientation guide in the multi-layered nightlife of Berlin in terms of locations. The guide serves as a database and thus as a search engine for Berlin nightlife locations.
Clubbing in Berlin, or visiting discos, or discotheques is an argument for a visit to Berlin. A large part of the younger visitors in Berlin comes mainly for clubbing and to the capital of parties.
Due to the large number of nightlife venues and bars in the capital, it is relatively difficult for visitors to get a useful overview without an orientation guide. This is where our guide comes in and offers several search options for discos, nightclubs, parties, bars and New Year’s Eve parties in Berlin etc.. We make no claim to completeness.
However, we are always trying to keep the guide for Berlin up to date. It is intended as a search engine for discos / nightclubs and is constantly being expanded. The portal has in its database clubs, discos, parties, discotheques, lounges, pubs, live venues, S/M fetish locations and bars, karaoke bars and locations with an open air area.
These can be found according to various search criteria. The search can be done by music genre, by district or by type.
It is also possible to combine the search for music genres with the search for a specific district. In addition, a disco can also be selected directly from the list. Thus, the user receives the following information about the searched event space: address, link (if available), type, size, number of dance floors, opening hours, music played and sometimes a description.
Sometimes it can happen that a location changes its opening hours and we are not informed. In this case we ask for your indulgence. The Party Berlin Guide holds party tips for the visitor, also sorted by districts, for example Kreuzberg Friedrichshain, which are constantly being expanded.
In the party tip, in addition to the conventional info, there are excerpts from the price list, remarks and a more detailed party description.
The calendar keeps a list of party organizers with their links ready for the user under the menu item Organizers.
This list is also regularly updated. Our guide is now also a calendar of events, it will be announced events of nightlife, instead of regular dance clubs, in unusual event locations. the contact form is intended for club operators.
By sending the completed contact form, the operator has the opportunity to obtain an entry of his location in the disco guide berlin. Likewise, he can
complete or update the data of his already registered location in Berlin with the help of the contact form.

Here’s something for the history booksBerlin clubbing institution Cookies, which had moved for the sixth time in 15 years in Berlin, offered the best of underground house and disco in its central room and a more diverse play list from indie to hip-hop in its smaller second room. Cookies had been on the path for over 15 years, growing from a tiny basement club through 6 other locations to the large space it now occupies on Friedrichstraße.
It was a more glamorous experience than the previous locations, but still maintained the family feel of Cookies. Upstairs was the vegetarian restaurant ‚Cream‘ and downstairs was the Cookies.
DJs included both local greats and imaginative imports from around the world, like the old Paradise Garage in New York. The ambience and style of Cookie was brilliant, with a small room where the DJs spun hip-hop, indie and electro, and the larger room dedicated to house and tech-house. The unisex toilets in the back of the big room were always full of flirty Berliners lounging on couches and generally misbehaving….
Older partygoers reserved a table in the upstairs restaurant, although it is not customary to leave the dance floor before 6am. The large bars served great drinks, including signature Cookies cocktails like the delicious and deadly ‚Watermelonman‘. A must-visit. This club was a Berlin institution! And always open on Tuesdays and Thursdays (yes, that’s right, Tuesdays and Thursdays; in Berlin they just need a weekend to have fun).
Make no mistake and remember, cookies were about partying hard.

White Trash Fast Food was also a classic. White Trash was a restaurant/bar-come-live music club on Schönhauser Allee in Prenzlauer Berg that was popular with Berlin’s more rock’n’roll-oriented hipsters. Despite its reputation, there is more to Berlin life than minimal techno – as the White Trash fast food proved.
When Pink, Carl Barat or Lenny from Motorhead were in town, they’d stop at the White Trash for a beer and one of their legendary cheeseburgers to let loose with Wally, the enigmatic tattooed Texan owner who was never caught without his cowboy hat. It was a self-consciously over-styled all-in-one burger joint, tattoo parlor, tiki shack and smokehouse a hang-out for rockers seeking ’50s & 60s retro, rockabilly, surfers, garage music and punk sounds along with newer guitar blues music (think White Stripes, The Strokes, and Kitty, Daisy and Lewis).
Many Berlin bands played here regularly (like We Heart Sharks or Myriad Creatures) on the first floor, which feels like a pub, and the „Diamond Lounge“ in the basement hosted indie club nights and other live shows. Back when Gossip was still a somewhat unknown band, they played here. The name of the music restaurant White Trash Fast Food consisted of two terms with negative connotations, used with ironic intent, suggesting that they cared little for convention here. „White Trash“ meant something like „white trash“ and to „fast food“ most people only think of bad food. For White Trash, in this sense, the art was to prove that White Trash didn’t produce lousy music and that fast food could be really good cuisine.
One wanted to be a good restaurant, place for art exhibitions and music stage. And there was a curiosity in the clubs, the tattoo studio. If you were feeling particularly brave, you could also get a tattoo in their basement tattoo parlor – there were lots of great rockabilly tattoo styles to choose from, or you could bring your own design. Otherwise, the old White Trash was already drawing attention for its thoughtfully unorthodox mix of styles. Upstairs it looked like a saloon and Irish pub, downstairs, where the music was playing, rockabilly posters, dark wooden walls with leaded glass frames, Asian dragon figurines and a lot of unclutteredness set the casual atmosphere.
It was a very fun, relaxed place – and the food was anything but trashy, with really good natural ingredients on their menu.
White Trash Fast Food had made a name for itself as a burger restaurant, exhibition space and music club. Later, the institution moved to Flutgraben in Treptow. The music program in the new White Trash remained similar to before. One could hear many live bands playing rock, swing, anti-folk, electro-rock and rhythm’n’blues – the main thing being unaffected and authentic. The DJ programs like the Rock’n’Roll Bingo or the Sunday Ballroom with Swing and Jive were also kept. After the club closed, Festsaal Kreuzberg moved to the Flutgraben location.

Berlin’s nightlife is legendary – and for good reason: the city is home to influential clubs that defined and pushed the techno scene, and even today, legendary venues like Tresor, Sisyphos or Silverwings attract the best DJs in the world. For example, it’s always fun to go to Kater Blau. Created by the former owners of Bar 25 and Katerholzig a large amusement park for adults right on the Holzmarkt, the Kater Blau. In a huge abandoned soap factory perfectly located on the Spree River, you’ll find plenty of dance floors, a huge outdoor area with amazing lighting, cool DJs and satisfying gastro. In this respect, you will really feel like a part of Berlin clubbing scene.
As in almost all discos in the city, special attention is paid to the sound quality in the locations.
Most of the DJs who play at Kater Blau are associated with the record label Katermukke. I would imagine they’ve probably heard some DJ names produced by Katermukke, like Sven Dose, Dirty Doering, Sascha Cowa and Britta Arnold. Be sure to listen to their public sounds on YouTube or even SoundCloud so you can find out if it’s your kind of music. Also true at Kater Blau: Berlin never sleeps! The impression of Berlin remains incomplete if you don’t taste its nightlife.
Their audience is also really diverse, and that’s what makes dancing at Kater so exciting and fun. It’s a lot of interesting, good-looking and nice people who are usually willing to dance and talk with you. You will probably have a hard time getting into Kater if you don’t act like a Berliner, so be as Berliner as you can. In other words, make sure to act like a true hipster: Pretzel up a bit, so put on some glitter, for example, and hold your Corona beer or their Becks bottle confidently and wear colorful or black fashion. Best disco times: Thursday evenings and Sundays after 6pm.
Don’t forget to take a photo in their photo booth and also appreciate the view of Robert Montgomery’s installation across the river. You will feel your heart warmer reading his quote in the Hangover Blue: „The city is wilder than you think, and friendlier than you think … Until morning, there is a unique atmosphere of fun and party here.
The German capital is rightly considered the center of European club life, especially electronic music. Fashionable and alternative offerings, cocktail bars, discos and open airs attract a diverse audience of all ages and professions. Famous DJs and musicians, dance groups from all over the world come here all year round. New bands and venues are created here, music trends are born here, which then conquer other world metropolises
And of course, we won’t fail to mention the most iconic temple of them all: the infamous Berghain. Click through to Berghain on this website or read the info about the ten best dancefloors in Berlin – and get ready for an unforgettable evening. Of course, you can also go to Watergate. Watergate: best music for partying by the waterWatergate is a hotspot for those who want to enjoy a great night with the best DJ talent in the world. However, DJs with big names also perform here. Names like Sven Väth, Eric Morillo, Chicken Lips and Adam Freeland are frequent guests who play house, techno, but sometimes such drum and bass and breakbeat. This club is known all over the world. Many foreign magazines have written about it and given it all kinds of titles and awards. Watergate is located in the heart of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain near the U-Bhf Schlesisches Tor.
In Watergate you have one of the most beautiful views from the Spree River through the floor-to-ceiling plate glass windows. The place itself is not that big. As with all mainstream clubs, they are interested in letting in equal numbers of men and women. So avoid going there with a large group of men without a female escort.
It would be better to appear with a group with the same number of both sexes. It is also a good way to flirt, as most men pay more attention to the women than to the DJ. It doesn’t look like anything special from the outside, but once inside, it will impress you. It has two levels, and the lower dance floor, called Waterfloor, is spectacular: it has a wide floor-to-ceiling glass front overlooking the Spree River and an illuminated bridge – you feel like you’re dancing on water. It’s hard to say anything specific about the inside of the club because it’s simply impossible to see anything under all the lighting effects that accompany the music. It seems that the walls, the floor and the ceiling itself pulsate in unison.
The sound system is very good and the lighting with the huge LED panel on the main floor is unreal. If music is the most important thing for you. The sound is perfect no matter what you play – house, electro, funk, hip-hop, jazz, techno house, deep house.
The music is intense, and the crowd is friendly, too. Best clubbing times: Saturday night, but it’s open almost every day.
As described above with the Kater Blau, the Watergate crew also founded their own record label Watergate Records with famous DJs like MANDY, Get Physical and Mobilee. So if music is close to your heart, you will definitely feel like you belong there. At the bar you will be offered a hundred cocktails.
Don’t forget your ID, because the Watergate Bouncers will surely ask you for it. On warm summer nights, you can enjoy the breeze over the water on the outdoor deck. There’s no shortage of views from the windows either, although the club is low but right on the banks of the Spree almost under Berlin’s most beautiful Oberbaumbrücke. At the same time, the terrace is built directly on the water. Finally, a few lines about a legendary rock shed with restaurant that no longer exists. The famous White Trash Fast FoodFine burgers and steaks were served at the American restaurant in the latest reincarnation of this grungy and well-known nightlife hangout, in Treptow’s Arena complex, but it was really all about the music and the atmosphere. Even Mick Jagger was seen at the original White Trash. Almost every night there was live blues, rock, psychedelic and other alternative styles, followed by DJs. For a lasting souvenir, you could visit the in-house No Pain No Brain tattoo store. Today, the rooms of WhiteTrash at the Arena are used to run the Festsaal Kreuzberg.

At that time it was: Welcome to Kunsthaus Tacheles; and its two clubs, two bars, the beach garden and… the art gallery. It was a meeting place for the city’s artists and subversives that had the atmosphere of a legendary, mythical avant-garde venue of the past, like the Cabaret Voltaire. The clubs were where people partied and partied. It stood directly on Oranienburger Strasse at the corner of Friedrichstrasse in Berlin Mitte. The building was missing the back wall due to damage. The remaining walls were decorated with huge, colorful graffiti-style murals. I stumbled upon the place, a gigantic ruin of a building on the east side of the recently disappeared Berlin Wall. Tacheles was one of many buildings in East Berlin that hovered between half-destroyed and unfinished building ground. In its courtyard of raw earth and broken concrete, surreal sculptures made of rockets and tanks of scrap metal created an apocalyptic chaos. This was a somewhat different kind of club with dance entertainment than many imagined.
Inside, the stairwells were tattooed with more graffiti pieces, while a man breathed fire to entertain the crowd in the beach garden. There, bars had been cut out of cavernous spaces that seemed to last forever. A place to party before heading to the top floor to buy art as a souvenir for your night out. There was dancing, rocking out to house, electro, punk, rock, techno, disco and alternative music. It was a pleasure and happening to be there.
This former Jewish department store hosted a collective of artists who liberated the building.
The closure of Berlin’s Tacheles-Haus is a sad day for alternative artThe famous Kunsthaus in Berlin, once a no-man’s land of creativity and freedom, has been closed, and now a shopping mall, office space and apartments, among other things, are being built on the site.
I suppose the Tacheles won’t even be mentioned in art history because it didn’t produce any „great artists“ or „iconic works.“ Nor did it try to. It was an experiment with the power of imagination with many performances and events. May it be remembered. Keep on Dancing
